1. Prerequisites
Before installing the Gespage Popup, make sure your Mac has the necessary permissions to run installation scripts via the Terminal.
2. Installing the Gespage Popup
Procedure:
Download the ZIP file from the FreshDesk portal.
Extract the ZIP file directly on the target Mac device.
⚠️ Warning: If the file is extracted on another device, some properties may be altered.Ensure that your Terminal has the required permissions to run the installer.
Double-click on
GespagePopupInstaller.command.
Enter the IP address of the Gespage server.
Once the server IP address is validated, the installer will ask the following question:
If you answer NO (n):
The username of your Mac session will automatically be assigned as the owner of the pending print jobs. The Gespage popup will then appear, prompting you to enter your print code or your credentials (username and password). Once the information is provided, the task will be allocated to that user. This entire process is transparent to the user.
If you answer YES (o):
The installer will prompt you to enter the username. This user must already be recognized by Gespage, either defined locally or created during LDAP synchronization. In this case, when this user sends print jobs, no popup will appear. The jobs will be sent directly to the print queue. The user can then log into the copier to release their print jobs.
3. Adding a Printer via Gespage
Procedure:
Open Mac OS Settings.
Click on Add Printer.
Retrieve the queue name from the Gespage server.
Select the appropriate driver.
Define the printer name that will appear on your Mac.
Confirm the addition of the printer.
4. Server Configuration
To ensure the Gespage Popup functions properly, verify that the following settings are correctly configured on the print server:
LPR must be enabled on the print server.
Port 515 must be open and functional on the printer.
