Objective:
The purpose of this procedure is to detail the configuration to be set up to push Gespage authentication to one or more Ricoh multifunction devices.
Prerequisite :
To be able to push Gespage authentication to Ricoh copiers, the following prerequisites must be met:
- Ricoh MFPs must be SOP compatible.
- Ricoh MFPs must have a non-empty administrator password, it must be the same for all MFPs that will host Gespage authentication.
- Ricoh MFPs must be up to date with the latest firmware (copier and Android tablet).
- The Ricoh MFPs must be booted and accessible on the network.
- The printers that will receive the authentication must be declared and managed in Gespage.
There are two steps to configuration:
- Configuring the Gespage application file
- Launching the deployment script for authentication
Gespage application file configuration
For the first step, you need to get the latest version of the Gespage application for Ricoh copiers from the following link:
Application Ricoh pour Gespage (SOP)
Once you have the file, you need to unzip it.
The result is a folder containing two files:
We are going to modify the Gespage.dalp file, so please edit this file with a text editor such as Notepad++.
We are going to modify this file in order to preconfigure it with the IP address of our Gespage server.
Towards the end of the file, we must include the IP address of our server for the 'server' parameter as below (in our example, the IP of our server is 10.0.100.22):
You can then save the modification and exit this file.
Next we need to generate our installation zip file.
To do this, select the two files contained in the folder, then zip the two documents into a zip file (it is very important to select the two files to be zipped, and not to zip the folder containing the two files):
You will then be asked to give a name to the file created, in our example we will keep the default name Gespage.zip :
The first stage is now complete, and our file to be deployed is ready.
Launching the deployment script for authentication
For the rest of the configuration, you will need to retrieve the deployment scripts from our support site:
Script d'installation groupé pour eTerminal Ricoh
Once you have the zip file, unzip it.
You will then obtain a folder containing all the elements required for deployment:
We need to add the application file we configured earlier to this folder :
This folder also contains a file called mfp.csv.
This file will be used to indicate the multifunction devices to which we want to publish authentication.
All we need to do is add the IP address of the copiers in column A :
You can then save and exit the file.
Next, we'll specify the password to be used in the script.
To do this, edit the main.bat file using NotePadd++, and modify the line 'set pwd=' with the password used by the copiers:
You can then save and quit this file.
We can now run our script.
To do this, open a command prompt, then move to your push_Ricoh folder:
We then need to run the installation, using the following command:
.\main.bat Gespage.zip spcode
Where Gespage.zip is our application file.
The spcode command is an option that allows you to automatically push the necessary SP codes to the multifunction. This command is optional if the SP codes have already been configured during a first push.
Configuration takes around 7 minutes per multifunction, and the command prompt provides a status report on the installation stages:
A log file is also created in text format in the push_Ricoh working directory:
The end of the installation is indicated when the MFP is restarted:
The Gespage eTerminal for Ricoh is then installed on the multifunction machine.
One parameter remains to be configured manually after the push, concerning the management of limits for printing on the administration page of the copier:
